Cambridgeshire Chamber of Commerce launches new AI Academy to help businesses unlock growth through artificial intelligence
Businesses across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough are being given a new opportunity to harness the power of artificial intelligence (AI) with the launch of the British Chambers of Commerce (BCC) AI Academy, now available through Cambridgeshire Chamber of Commerce.
The new AI Academy has been created to help businesses of all sizes confidently adopt AI, providing practical, role-specific learning that enables employees across every department to work more efficiently, save valuable time, and focus on the work that drives growth.
As AI rapidly becomes part of everyday business operations, many organisations understand its potential but remain unsure where to begin. The AI Academy bridges that gap with accessible, practical training tailored to every job role, from business owners and leadership teams to marketing, HR, finance, sales, operations and customer service professionals.
Rather than replacing people, AI is helping businesses remove repetitive, time-consuming tasks such as drafting emails, summarising meetings, creating content, analysing information and automating administrative processes. Research suggests that effective use of the AI Academy can save professionals up to 122 hours each year. That time can instead be invested in growing the business, developing people, improving customer relationships and driving innovation.
Recent BCC research also highlights the growing momentum behind AI adoption, with 35% of SMEs now actively using AI, up from 25% in 2024. As adoption continues to accelerate, developing AI skills is becoming an increasingly important competitive advantage.
The AI Academy has been designed with inclusivity in mind. Unlike many technical AI programmes, it is suitable for every role within a business, allowing entire teams to develop practical AI skills relevant to their day-to-day responsibilities. This organisation-wide approach helps businesses maximise productivity while ensuring employees feel confident using AI responsibly and effectively.
Cambridgeshire Chamber of Commerce CEO, Charlotte Horobin said:
"Artificial intelligence is no longer a technology for the future, it is a practical business tool that can help organisations reclaim valuable time, improve productivity and create more capacity for growth. The AI Academy has been designed to make AI accessible for everyone, regardless of their role or experience, helping businesses build confidence while ensuring people remain at the centre of decision-making."
The launch forms part of the Chamber's commitment to supporting businesses as they embrace digital transformation and future-proof their workforce.
