Can your business benefit from free self-assessment employment tool?

Law firm Stone King’s Employment Team has produced a free tool to help organisations self-assess whether their employment contracts are ‘fit for purpose’ and ensure that they are getting the most out of them both in terms of protection but also as a responsible employer.

Peter Woodhouse, employment lawyer at Stone King

The self-assessment tool includes a Q&A guidance document outlining the key elements of an employment contract, as well as a two-part questionnaire:

  • Part A: Do your employment contracts have the right legal content?
  • Part B: Do your employment contracts promote your impact vision?

The tool also invites organisations to use their employment contracts as an opportunity to reflect their commitment to delivering positive social outcomes.

Peter Woodhouse, Head of Business Sector and Social Enterprise Sector, says: “Having advised clients on employment issues for more than twenty years, I have again and again seen the value of having thorough, well-drafted contracts. But getting them right is about much more than just putting legal protections in place for your organisation. They are an opportunity for an employer to demonstrate their commitment to delivering impact outside the financial bottom line and to be an employer that values its employees. As well as being the right thing to do, this will of course also help to attract and retain the best people.”

Stone King can be found at 3rd Floor Bateman House, 82-88 Hills Road in Cambridge and contacted on 01223 351000.
