£43m expansion at TWI on course for completion by end of this year

Following successful completion of groundworks in preparation for a 25,000 square metre expansion at its South Cambridgeshire laboratories, TWI has announced the appointment of Bedfordshire-based construction company SDC as main contractor for the programme. Tomatoes rich in anthocyanins could slow cancer

Purple tomatoes with the potential to slow the progression of cancer have been harvested in Ontario, Canada. The tomatoes, which are high in anthocyanins, are the result of research by Norwich Research Park scientists. The purple tomatoes have been shown to have anti-inflammatory effects and to slow the progression of soft-tissue carcinoma in cancer-prone mice.
