Scientists take step towards drug to treat norovirus stomach bug
An experimental drug currently being trialled for influenza and Ebola viruses could have a new target: norovirus, often known as the winter vomiting virus. A team of researchers at the University of Cambridge has shown that the drug, favipiravir, is effective at reducing – and in some cases eliminating – norovirus infection in mice.

New RRS optical system gives Michell chilled mirror hygrometer exceptional response
The S8000 hygrometer’s accuracy at very low dew-point temperatures (below -80°C dp) is due to a new measurement system which Michell Instruments calls ‘RRS’. RRS is a sophisticated technique that detects very small changes in moisture condensed on the chilled mirror surface. This guarantees both high sensitivity and fast response when measuring low dew points.
