Administrator to the Centre for Southwest Asian and North African Studies (Part Time, Fixed Term)

We seek an experienced administrator who will develop the administrative foundations for Cambridge's new Centre for Southwest Asian and North African Studies and who will co-ordinate and oversee the Centre's activities as it becomes more ambitious and ensconced in the University landscape. This includes managing the Centre's various sources of funding as well as supporting its Steering Committee as it seeks to access new funding streams. The administrator will oversee the finalisation of the SWANA website by the web designer and take a leading role in organising the Centre's launch, due to take place in autumn 2026. The role will be part time 0.25FTE, fixed term for 11 Months.

Our ideal candidate will be educated to HND, HNC, level 4/5 vocational qualifications or equivalent level of practical experience will be an experienced user of Microsoft Office systems with excellent organisational and communication skills and a high level of accuracy and attend to detail.

We are looking for someone who can demonstrate factual; theoretical knowledge relating to the everyday function of an academic centre and who has experience of working in an administrative role and organising conferences. If you have experience working with international academics and students this is a bonus.

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available until 30 July 2027 in the first instance.
