HR Peer Group

Supporting HR professionals through shared insight

Members of this group work across a range of seniority levels, including:

  • HR Director
  • Head of HR
  • HR Manager
  • HR Business Partner / People Partner

Events

We typically host three to four in-person events each year, held within the Cambridgeshire area and generously hosted by our member organisations.

Event topics are driven by the interests of the group, with feedback gathered annually to help shape the programme. Each session lasts approximately 90 minutes and includes time for networking and a 45-60 minute presentation delivered by a subject matter expert. All sessions are specifically tailored for individuals working within HR teams.

Recent sessions have included:
  • Supporting Neurodiversity: Understanding Neuro-Inclusion and Policy Development
  • How to Respond to AI in the Workplace
  • Leading Change and Overcoming Change Resistance
  • Workplace Investigations: Common Pitfalls Investigators Face and How to Avoid Them
  • Understanding Imposter Syndrome
  • Employee Wellbeing: How to Take Strategic Action to Support Staff
  • Tales and Trends from Employment Tribunals

Upcoming Schedule

Our next session is on Thursday 17th September, focused on Current Benefit Trends and Future Changes.

Q&A Mailing

Our fortnightly Q&A mailing gives members the opportunity to ask questions across any area of HR and receive responses from peers within the group. These are collated and shared back to all group members anonymously, creating a valuable resource for insight, guidance and shared experience.

Regular topics include:

  • Salary reviews and benchmarking
  • Employee benefits and reward packages
  • HR policy guidance
  • Provider recommendations (e.g. occupational health, HR systems, and more)

Who can join?

The HR Peer Group is free to join for Cambridge Network members working in the relevant functions within HR.
