    Evolving genes lead to evolving genes

    Researchers have designed a method that can universally test for evolutionary adaption, or positive (Darwinian) selection, in any chosen set of genes, using re-sequencing data such as that generated by the 1000 Genomes Project. The method identifies gene sets that show evidence for positive selection in comparison with matched controls, and thus highlights genes for further functional studies.

    Marketing budgets set to increase in 2013

    This week the IPA Bellwether report which looks at marketing budgets within the UK has been released. Three hundred senior marketers from top businesses were surveyed and the results reveal that 36% of those surveyed are setting higher marketing budgets for the next financial year, while 23% are setting lower budgets compared to those set last year.
