PA and Office Administrator (Fixed Term)

Applications are invited for the role of PA and Office Administrator (Grade 5) at the Centre for the Study of Existential Risk (CSER). An exciting opportunity has arisen within the core administrative team, supporting the work of CSER, and joining a growing core team across the Institute for Technology and Humanity (ITH).

This is a full-time, fixed-term post where funding is available for two years in the first instance. The expected start date for this role is Monday 2 November 2026, or as soon as possible thereafter.

Due to the nature of this role, the role holder will be expected to work from the CSER office Monday to Friday, with some flexibility to work from home during quieter periods, to be agreed with the line manager.

Reporting to the Centre Co-ordinator, the role will largely focus on PA support for the Director and other members of the senior leadership team, office management, and managing an extensive visitor and affiliate programme, as well as organising internal seminars and events, and other activities to support the day-to-day running of CSER. This is a diverse and dynamic position, and the role holder may be asked to undertake other duties as appropriate.

The post holder is expected to take a proactive and flexible approach to their work and will have relevant administrative experience and excellent organisational skills.
