The Medical Research Council Mitochondrial Biology Unit (MRC MBU), University of Cambridge, wishes to appoint two post-doctoral Research Associates to join the research group of Prof. Mike Murphy at the MRC Mitochondrial Biology Unit.

The successful candidates will carry our work on the chemical biology of mitochondrial function developing and expanding chemical and mass spectrometric analytical techniques in mitochondrial biology in the areas of drug delivery and probe development. You will also be expected to play a major role in the work of the research group, through the conduct of research, introduction of new ideas, dissemination of research results and support and training of others.
Candidates will have or be about to receive a PhD in biochemistry, biological chemistry or a related discipline. Candidates with experience in mitochondrial biology, chemical biology, small molecule mass spectrometry and confocal microscopy of mitochondria are encouraged to apply.

*Appointment at Research Associate level is dependent on having a PhD. Those who have submitted but not yet received their PhD will initially be appointed as a Research Assistant (Grade 5, Point 38 £34,610) moving to Research Associate (Grade 7) upon confirmation of your PhD award.
