Bidwells team completes Prudential 100 bike ride to raise money For EACH

A team of three from leading property consultancy Bidwells has used its pedal power to complete the Prudential Ride London-Surrey 100 Peloton Relay last Sunday – and has already raised over £700 for East Anglia’s Children’s Hospice (EACH).

Doug Shulman, Colin Summers and Matt Dawson finished the tough course which started in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park before following a 100-mile route on closed roads through the capital and into the Surrey countryside, then heading back for a sprint finish down the Mall.

All keen cyclists, the trio trained hard for the event but as they are all based in different offices, there was no opportunity for them to meet and ride together before the day.

Doug said: “The route took in three big climbs including Leith Hill and the legendary Box Hill which was used in the Olympic Road Race in 2012. In total I did 102 miles plus 20 miles to and from the start and finish line so it was a long day in the saddle! We rode to raise money for EACH so any donations are greatly appreciated.”

A Just Giving page was set up to raise money for EACH and already over £700 has been pledged by supporters.

Karen Newton, EACH Cambridgeshire Fundraiser said: “We are thrilled that the Bidwells team has chosen to support us with their Ride London-Surrey challenge. The firm has raised a tremendous amount for EACH as part of its 175th anniversary and we are grateful for its continued support.”

EACH supports families and cares for children and young people with life-threatening conditions across Cambridgeshire, Essex, Norfolk and Suffolk. It relies on voluntary donations for the majority of its income and needs to raise almost £6 million to deliver its services this year.
