Cambridge TV training participants learn about the plight of homeless women

When you think of a homeless person it's more typical to think of a young single male. But that's not always the case. While filming at an event, Cambridge TV training participants learned about cuts which will impact vulnerable women in a Cambridge hostel.

Cambridge TV Training participants learned about the plight of homeless women when they interviewed people at a CamCRAG event which was raising money and awareness at St Giles' Church on Castle Street, Cambridge.

They learned that funding which has been supporting homeless and vulnerable women living in the Whitworth House hostel has been cut, and it will have to close in June.

Cambridge Convoy Refugee Action Group (CamCRAG) supports displaced people in Calais and organised the fair in the church. Their Big Sleepout in the church and in its grounds was also a fundraiser, with the Whitworth Trust as its charitable partner for the day.

The finished video with the interviews is now online and will be broadcast on television soon: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3uUzmc5Fl2M
