They provide a great opportunity for local people to sign up, learn new skills and potentially secure full time employment.
The courses have been organised by EDGE - a careers and training service that brings together jobseekers and businesses with recruitment needs across Huntingdonshire.
As well as Pre-Apprenticeship in Construction, which starts on 24 June, there are two further courses - Site Management Safety Training Scheme (five days) and Health and Safety Awareness (one day) - that will teach individuals a variety of new construction skills.
People taking part in the courses can practise interview questions which will boost confidence. They will also learn how to structure and display the key elements of a CV and further their knowledge on the art of cover letters and completing application forms.
EDGE was set up because the local area is experiencing significant inward investment, particularly at the Alconbury Enterprise Campus. As more businesses establish themselves in the area, there are more job opportunities. EDGE was set up to ensure local people play a part in this success story.
