A diverse group of key people from a range of disciplines and organisations have been consulted throughout 2019 but UKRI is keen that there is input into this important area from a very wide range of relevant stakeholders. This input will help to shape potential future investments that UKRI makes in decarbonising heating and cooling. Therefore, people are asked to take the the time to complete the following short survey.
The survey will ask you to identify up to three key needs for reaching net zero from heating and cooling that research, including training or demonstration activities, can enable.
The analysis of the responses to this survey will be an input to a workshop in March 2020. The workshop will use the detailed needs to help create the framework of research activity to enable the UK achieve net zero carbon emissions by 2050.
The issues and challenges presented by decarbonising heating and cooling range across an extremely wide array of academic disciplines (e.g. materials, engineering, manufacturing, ICT, economic and social science, design, ethics, medical, climate). They also affect a wide range of businesses – energy generators and suppliers, manufacturers as well as businesses that use a significant amount of heating or cooling. Government, regulation, charities, trade associations will all have a variety of needs that need to be addressed. Submissions are welcome from the above and any organisation which is significantly involved or affected by transforming heating and cooling.
