Fifteen categories are open for entry to the awards, which have developed an international reputation for highlighting the exceptional talent and achievements in the Cambridge region across a host of sectors, from biotech and medtech to cleantech and AI.
There is always an exciting tussle among businesses vying to be named Life Science Company of the Year and Technology Company of the Year.
And there are individual categories for Researcher of the Year and CEO of the Year. Nominees can put themselves forward, or be nominated by a colleague in these categories.
Two categories focus on education and training. Our STEM Initiative of the Year category honours those encouraging greater engagement in science, technology, engineering or mathematics, while our new Enterprise Skills Award will be awarded to an organisation that has demonstrated outstanding commitment to leadership or management training for its scientific and technical staff.
The Tech for Good Award will reward those using technology for positive social, environmental or economic ends, and is open to companies, social enterprises and other organisations.
There are two categories for emerging talent: One to Watch has developed a track record of highlighting the next big thing, while Start-up of the Year is open to early-stage companies showing entrepreneurial drive.
There is an Award for Innovation, which covers ingenuity across any field of science and technology, while Employer of the Year is a new category designed to demonstrate an organisation’s commitment to its team, to corporate social responsibility and to the green agenda.
Entrants must have a base within the Cambridge Independent circulation area and can enter more than one category. The winners will be announced in the spring.
Editor Paul Brackley said: “Our judging panel is looking for evidence of impact over the last year, and how you stand out of the crowd. We look forward to reading your entries. Good luck!”
