About Dr Ian Lewis
Prior to his recent appointment, Dr Lewis was Director of Cambridge University’s Computing Service, having previously worked in the commercial sector, primarily as CIO in various banking companies.
He lived for ten years in New York, and was there at the time of the 9/11 attack on the World Trade Center where he assisted victims in the Winter Garden Atrium before moving to a prepared Merrill Lynch disaster command centre in Jersey City.
Dr Lewis writes: "The University of Cambridge is an eclectic mix of 40,000 employees grouped into over 200 operating units, with a broad spectrum of opinion on how this aggregated organisation should be directed."
