Cambridge Regional College is reducing employer fees on apprenticeship programmes to just £150 between January 1 and 31 to help encourage smaller businesses to take on an apprentice in the New Year.
The offer is open to all businesses with under 1,000 employees, and applies to apprentices aged 19 and over who are signed up to Level 2 and 3 apprenticeship programmes during January.
Angela Hughes, head of apprenticeship programmes at CRC, said the college wanted to give a boost to businesses thinking about taking on an apprentice.
“The offer will save employers up to £1,100, so could make a real difference to whether or not a company takes on an apprentice,” she said. “There are no fees for apprentices aged from 16 to 18, and now it will cost just £150 in fees for older apprentices signed up in January.
“Apprenticeships bring big benefits to business, as well as to apprentices, and we have a very wide range of programmes available, from accounting to carpentry.
“We can help companies find and recruit new apprentices and offer advice on any grants which might be available to you.”
Apprenticeships are for all age groups and cover a wide range of career options, including business administration, team leading and management, retail and customer service.
