Comic Relief – Face the Funny, Friday 13th March, BBC One.     Watch a sneak peak here: http://bit.ly/1D1GkSb

Written by David Walliams and the Dawson Brothers, the one-off special will see David reprise his role as naive yet loveable Lou Todd, who is now a carer for Professor Hawking. Set in the grounds of the prestigious St John’s College, Cambridge, the sketch also stars Catherine Tate as a local nun and is narrated by Tom Baker.

Professor Stephen Hawking said: “I decided to take part in the Little Britain sketch because I enjoyed Little Britain and I loved the script. I support Red Nose Day. It funds so many worthwhile causes.

“My favourite moment during filming was being greeted and patronised by Catherine Tate’s character, dressed as a nun.”

Expect mishaps, kerfuffles, and some very big surprises as viewers will be treated to Little Britain as they’ve never seen it before, in what is set to be an unmissable highlight of the Red Nose Day show.

David Walliams said: “This is a fantastically exciting sketch as it stars Professor Stephen Hawking, which is like having Isaac Newton in a sketch. It is an incredible thing just to meet him, let alone work with him. It’s very special that he doesn’t take himself too seriously and agrees to be in a silly comedy sketch.”

Speaking about this year’s Red Nose Day night of TV, Comic Relief – Face the Funny, David said: “I’m thrilled Mr Bean and the Vicar of Dibley are coming back for the Red Nose Day, and this sketch is, in some ways, the return of Little Britain. Hopefully there’s going to be loads of must see TV moments throughout the night.”

Red Nose Day is back tomorrow with a fantastic evening of entertainment: Comic Relief – Face the Funny, live from the London Palladium. The star-studded evening of comedy will be presented by a stellar line up of TV favourites including John Bishop, Russell Brand, Lenny Henry, Davina McCall, David Walliams and Claudia Winkleman. Expect original sketches from TV finest stars, live stand up from some the nation’s best comedians, fantastic musical performances and highlights from this year’s Red Nose Day campaign. Don’t miss it!

About Red Nose Day

Red Nose Day 2015 is heading your way on Friday 13th March when the great British public will be asked to Make Your Face Funny for Money.

By raising cash this Red Nose Day, you’re helping to change lives forever. That’s because Comic Relief spends the money raised to help change the lives of poor, vulnerable and disadvantaged people here in the UK and across Africa.

Red Nose Day comes along every two years and combines two very British things: having a laugh and helping others. Be it at school, work or home, people across the land put on Red Noses and pull out all the stops to raise as much money as possible. Then, once everyone’s run out of fundraising juice, they tune into BBC One for some top entertainment from their favourite comedians and to donate even more cash!  And why do they do it? To help poor and vulnerable people living incredibly tough lives both here in the UK and across Africa.
