Sainsbury’s donates £3,560 to help disabled people in the Cambridge area

Sainsbury’s on Sidney Street, Cambridge has been busy fundraising for local disability charity Papworth Trust, raising over £3,500 to help local disabled people.

The store, which selected the Trust as their chosen charity, has been busy raising money through in-store collections and sales of carrier bags.

Jo Revitt, Papworth Trust’s Corporate Fundraiser visited the store on Tuesday 2 August and was presented with the in-store donations cheque.

Jo said:  “Papworth Trust would like to extend a huge thank you to Sainsbury’s for their support. The money raised will go to our Cambridge Centre, who provides a range of leisure and learning activities such as arts and crafts, cake decorating, digital photography, film-making, social skills and confidence building.

"With the support of companies such as Sainsbury’s, local disabled people are getting involved in a range of activities that help them to develop their skills and show a real ‘I can’ attitude.”

Sainsbury’s Store Manager Wendy Rigarlsford said:  “Sainsbury’s Sidney Street is delighted to have been able to raise money for such a good cause as Papworth Trust. We wish them good luck with fund raising in the future.”
