Sign up for Apprenticeship Jobs Fair for the chance to win an Apple Watch!

Students who sign up for this afternoon's (Tuesday's) Cambridge Network Apprenticeship Jobs Fair at The Hauser Forum have the opportunity to win an Apple Watch.

All you have to do is help promote the fair on social media. To be in with a chance to win the watch, simply register to attend by following the link to the cambridgeapprenticeships website. Add your details, then tweet the message provided: "I’m blazing a trail at the High Tech Apprentice Fair in Cambridge!..."  (Find directions to the Hauser Forum here.)   A winner will be chosen by random draw later today and will receive an Apple Watch Sport 38mm Space Grey Aluminium Case with Black Sport Band. ( See the Prize Draw terms and conditions here.)   Young people - from 15 years old and up - are encouraged to drop in from 3pm to 6pm to meet representatives from more than 20 Cambridge companies who are all in the market for new talent. Find out about more than 60 positions which are on offer on the day, and about the wide range of organisations that are geared up to help you launch your career.   "Apprenticeships, which offer opportunities to earn while you learn and build a career, are proving the way forward for many companies. In some cases employers even offer you the chance to study for a university degree without having to pay tuition fees, so you can avoid building up a large debt," says Hilary Laing, Cambridge Network's COO.   "Many local businesses are exhibiting at the fair and we want schools, colleges and parents to urge students to come and find out more from Cambridge Network members including Aveva, Bango, e-go aeroplanes, Blacktrace Holdings, Spectral Edge, Stansted Airport, Takeda Cambridge, the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute and Carl Zeiss, among others."   This event, sponsored by the Skills Funding Agency, QA Apprenticeships and Tech Partnership - all of which will have people on hand to talk to prospective candidates -  takes place at The Hauser Forum, (3 Charles Babbage Road, Cambridge CB3 0GT).   Students and jobseekers have free entry and the opportunity to:
  • Meet the major local employers, who will have stands and be available to answer questions about apprenticeship placements in their organisations
  • Take part in optional CV and interview skills workshops
  • Learn about what an apprenticeship can do for your career.
Cambridge Network is working with CAP – Cambridge Area 14-19 Partnership – to attract students to attend and a large turnout is expected from local schools and colleges, some of which are offering transport to the event.   Read about successful apprentices at Bango and Cambridge University Hospitals:   Microsoft names Bango apprentice as Apprentice of the Year 2015

Still time for employers to take part

Those employers who are not looking to recruit right now will benefit from the chance to connect with advisers; with companies which have successfully taken the apprenticeship route, and with young people eager to learn about local opportunities.  Network members are welcome to sign up on the website and just come along - free of charge - to learn more about employing apprentices.  Find out more and sign up here. _____________________________________
