The UTC, which opens in September, will specialise in teaching biomedical and environmental science and technology to 14 to 19 year-old students, giving them a head start in careers in the sector.
Sponsored by Cambridge Regional College and Cambridge University Health Partners, the UTC is backed by leading employers including the Babraham Institute, Napp Pharmaceuticals and the Medical Research Council.
The Open Day, which takes place on Saturday, 8 March, from 10am to 1pm, will be held at the Deakin Centre at Addenbrooke’s Hospital – close to the UTC’s Robinson Way site.
Visitors will be able to meet UTC partners at the event, have a go at science activities and see a model of the £10 million college building. Principal Melanie Radford will also deliver a series of presentations, followed by question and answer sessions.
The state-funded UTC will take students from a 25-mile radius of Cambridge, offering GCSEs, A levels and practical qualifications alongside special industry-led Challenge Projects.
