Videojet introduces Royal Mail MailMark barcode printing

Coding and marking machines specialist Videojet Technologies has been approved by Royal Mail to print its MailMark 2D barcode.

Videojet trialled the new software BX6500/6600 series binary array inkjet printers

Having first worked with the Royal Mail to ensure the solution could create the required barcode, Videojet then teamed up with a large mailings solutions provider to trial the new software on the Videojet BX6500/6600 series binary array inkjet printers.

Jon Unwin, Videojet’s graphics sales manager, comments: "We are very pleased that our coding systems have been verified as suitable to print this new barcode."

"Now we can help any operation that produces mass mailings enjoy greater reportability and response transparency."

"We were determined to become one of only a handful of suppliers whose printing machines have been approved for producing collateral for high volume mailings"

Mailmark Royal Mail barcode technology allows users to access web-based reporting from an online analytics dashboard.

The batch level reporting details predicted delivery, volume and performance, in addition to item level error reporting.

The companies that opt to use the 2D barcode on mailings through Royal Mail also benefit from a discount in costs.

Unwin adds: “Videojet has developed a range of high quality solutions for customers in this market but we were keen for them to have peace of mind when it comes to using MailMark.”
