To support the charity further, Workplace Law’s Head of Health and Safety, Simon Toseland ran a programme of pro-bono training, including a fire warden and first aid course, for Action Medical Research’s staff. Taking place on Wednesday, 29 May the training was tailored and specifically delivered to meet the needs of the charity.
Simon Toseland comments: “Working with Charities and being able to give back to the community is an important part of Workplace Law's values and ethic. As with any other organisation charities still have to comply with all relevant health and safety regulations but often have very limited budgets. The fire and first aid training that we delivered was extremely well received and it was interesting to see the importance Action Medical Research places on health and safety when planning their events.”
Denise Norris, HR Executive at Action Medical Research, adds:“We were delighted to take up Workplace Law’s kind offer of additional pro bono training for our team. Health and safety is paramount to us when running our busy schedule of fundraising events and the specifically designed programme will ensure this remains front of mind for our staff.”
Simon Toseland will be cycling from London to Paris on 17 July; raising money for Action Medical Research, donations can be made online here: www.action.org.uk/sponsor/stoseland
On Friday, 13 September Workplace Law will be taking part in the Action Medical Research PLOD – a 40 mile team trek through the night, as well as engaging on many other fringe activities to raise money and awareness.
