'Cambridge 2021 and beyond' City Council Leader's business briefing and survey

This is an invitation to our autumn briefing for Businesses and Organisations which will be run as a Zoom meeting on 11 November where Councillor Lewis Herbert will be setting out the opportunities and challenges facing the Council, and discuss our priorities and budget strategy for the years ahead.  And welcoming questions and discussion on your priorities too.

Cambridge faces major ongoing challenges in tackling the virus and supporting and working with our community and businesses and education sector to address it together.

Then there’s the immense task of achieving a successful recovery as a united city in 2021 and through the 2020s - economically, socially, environmentally and financially - and we will need your continuing support for excellent partnership work and co-operation across all sectors in Cambridge and the wider region that makes us so strong, in the face of many challenges.

The same goes for delivering on our Cambridge and council priorities for a successful future.  We can only tackle together our twin challenges - tackling both the climate emergency and tackling poverty and inequality in Cambridge - by working in partnership with organisations including yours.

I’d very much welcome the chance to discuss the key issues you face, and the Council’s role in working with you on those, and hear your view. The session will be interactive, with an open Q&A discussion on the work the Council does to promote sustainable economic growth, and what you can do with us to tackle some of the key challenges the city, its businesses and its residents face.

To help inform our thinking on the Council’s budget priorities, if you could complete the short survey before Thursday 5 November, that would help us a great deal, and would be very much appreciated. Please share this link with other businesses in your networks, as we’re keen to hear from as many businesses as possible.

You may already have questions that you would like to ask and if you do you, please email them in advance of the briefing to kathy.brown@cambridge.gov.uk by 5 November so I can try to cover the topics that matter to you.

I hope you are able to join me on 11 November, and I look forward to working with you to make this world class small city even greater. If you are unable to attend, or feel this invitation is more appropriate for someone else in your organisation, please do forward this email on.

Please confirm your attendance by Thursday 5 November by e-mailing kathy.brown@cambridge.gov.uk so joining instructions can be sent to you by close of play Friday 6th.

Kind regards

Lewis
