This is a hybrid role with the main associated office based in Bar Hill, Cambridgeshire.

About the role
As a key player in our Operations team, located both in Cambridge and internationally, you will be instrumental in ensuring consistent delivery of high-quality, and reliability of our products. Working collaboratively within a team framework, you will engage with suppliers to develop and implement best practices focused on defect prevention, minimizing variation and waste, and fostering continuous improvements. Your efforts will be critical in consistently meeting and exceeding customer requirements, maintaining the integrity and excellence of the Domino brand across the globe.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that our suppliers adhere to rigorous manufacturing and quality standards through detailed audits and assessments. Identify opportunities for enhancement and collaborate with suppliers to implement effective corrective actions.
  • Leverage key performance indicators (KPIs) to scrutinize and uplift supplier quality metrics, focusing on manufacturing processes.
  • Work in close synergy with engineering, production, and procurement departments to integrate quality standards seamlessly across the manufacturing lifecycle.
  • Propel continuous improvement efforts that target the elevation of supplier quality and manufacturing efficiency.
  • Dive deep into quality issues with a manufacturing lens, conducting exhaustive root cause analysis and formulating preventive strategies to avert future issues.

Essential Competencies and Experience:

  • Demonstrable experience in supplier quality engineering within a manufacturing setting is crucial.
  • Proficiency with ISO standards and quality management systems. Experience in design for manufacture (DFM) is highly valued, ensuring that product designs are optimized for manufacturing repeatability.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems such as Oracle, IFS, SAP, or similar. Competence in reliability analysis and the ability to influence design decisions to meet manufacturability goals.
  • Ability to dissect data and trends, with excellent communication skills to foster relationships with suppliers and internal teams.

Qualifications:

  • Essential: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, with a preference for those focused on manufacturing or a closely related discipline.
  • Desired: Membership in a professional engineering or quality institute (e.g., IQA, IET), Lean Six Sigma certification (Green or Black belt), Chartered Engineer status, and qualifications in inspection and measurement.
