Research Laboratory Technician (Part Time, Fixed Term)

We are seeking a highly motivated Research Laboratory Technician to join the BioMind Lab, led by Dr Mary-Ellen Lynall at the University of Cambridge. The BioMind Lab investigates the brain-immune interface, identifying mechanisms, biomarkers, and therapeutic targets for disorders of the brain and mind.

The role holder will support the Mental Health Goals OMICS Project, a UK multi-omics infrastructure and resource for psychosis and mood disorders, playing a central role in implementing its biomarker protocols. Working within the University's established health and safety framework, you will develop, implement and deliver peripheral blood biomarker assays and multi-omics workflows for this UK-wide, multi-site research programme, establishing and maintaining standard operating procedures, quality systems and sample management processes from the ground up.https://pgc.unc.edu/for-researchers/working-groups/functional-genomics-working-group/

You will train and support a diverse range of personnel - including doctoral researchers, clinical staff and colleagues at partner sites - ensuring protocol adherence and data quality across the network and will provide highly technical support to ensure the smooth running of the laboratory. You will work closely with academics, clinicians, technical staff, administrators and programme managers within the wider Mental Health Goals network
