The UKRI Hub for Predictive and AI-Enabled Human Disease Models is a UK national research initiative funded by UKRI, translating academic New Approach Methodologies (NAMs) into validated, industry-ready systems. Based within the Cambridge Stem Cell Institute (CSCI), the Hub brings together leading scientists, clinicians and commercial organisations to drive advances for national benefit.
We are seeking an experienced and highly organised Senior Research Ethics, Governance and Sample Coordinator to join the Hub.
Working closely with scientists and the operations team, you will ensure research and collaborative activities comply with ethical and R&D approvals, Human Tissue Authority (HTA) requirements, biosafety standards, UK statutory requirements, Good Clinical Practice (GCP) principles and GDPR.
Key responsibilities:
Coordinate HTA audits, site monitoring and centre monitoring, ensuring regulatory requirements are met.
Manage SOPs, policies and biosafety documentation, including internal biosafety audits.
Provide advice to researchers and staff on research ethics, governance and biological safety.
Prepare documentation for REC amendments, progress reports and renewals, ensuring approvals remain current.
Oversee human tissue collected, received and stored within CSCI, ensuring compliance with ethical approvals and HTA requirements.
Implement systems for the tracking, storage and management of incoming and outgoing samples, maintaining accurate records and appropriate governance standards.
Work collaboratively with scientists and operational colleagues to support the safe, ethical and compliant delivery of innovative research.

Contract: Full-time, with part-time and flexible working arrangements available
Duration: Fixed-term until 31 March 2030 (in the first instance)
