Stores Technician [Temporary Cover]

We are looking to recruit a Stores Technician for facilities based in South Cambridge. As a member of a hard working team you will support the Chief Stores Technician in providing an effective and efficient service within the Stores/Purchasing Section of the facility.

The role holder is required to: Process and obtain authorisation of orders, answer staff and supplier order queries, process goods in and goods out, arrange the delivery of Animals to other Departments, process supplier Invoices and provide staff cover for the Chief Stores Technician during periods of annual leave and sick leave. The role holder will also be overseeing a stock value of up to £60,000 using specialist computer stock programmes.

You will have a good all round education and be computer literate, able to use Microsoft Office programs. Experience working within a stores environment is essential and experience in the specialist ordering which comes with designated establishments and research areas would benefit.

Temporary cover: this post is fixed-term for 12 months, in order to cover for the absence of another team member.
