Blue Chip Technology provides RE3 embedded computer as developer’s prize

UK computer board manufacturer Blue Chip Technology has announced that it has provided the first and second prizes for this year's prize draw at the UK Device Developers' Conference.

The Device Developers' Conference is an annual one-day event for engineers and computer scientists working in the development of intelligent systems and devices.  It has recently taken place in Bristol,  Cambridge and Manchester.

The first prize, a Blue Chip Technology RE3, is a powerful ARM Cortex based single board computer that provides dual display, advanced graphics engines, rapid computation and a wealth of peripheral support such as CAN and Mini PC-Express. Designed and manufactured at Blue Chip's headquarters in the UK, the new RE3 offers engineers a new generation of small footprint, fan-less embedded computer.

Shubhadeep Bhattacharya who attended the Device Developers’ Conference at Cambridge won the RE3.  Shubhadeep is a developer working for a UK automotive electronics company,

"We are very pleased to be providing some prizes for this event," said Barry Husbands of Blue Chip Technology. "A conference such as this is very important for our industry, as it helps us share our knowledge and ideas. The RE3 is our very latest design. I feel sure Shubhadeep will enjoy working with it, it has a very impressive feature set and performance".

The second prize is a Blue Chip Alpha display panel, an advanced integrated single board computer with touchscreen.  A developer working in medical electronics who attended the Cambridge event won the Alpha display panel.

"Mostly this event has been about the sharing of technical knowledge through presentations, workshops and an exhibition space," said Richard Blackburn, Event Organiser. "In this respect it's been a great event and we are very pleased. However, for me it's a real bonus that two delegates get to take home some 'state of the art' hardware. This has been very generous of Blue Chip and we are very appreciative of their support for this event."

Companies that exhibited and sponsored this year's event include Blue Chip, German debug tool company Lauterbach, UK software development consultants Pebble Bay, and embedded tools and technology distributors SDC Systems.
