The Cambridge Building Society Community Fund wins ‘Best Charity Partnership of the Year’ at the MoneyAge Awards

The Cambridge Building Society’s Community Fund has been named Best Charity Partnership of the Year at the MoneyAge Awards 2025, recognising the Society’s outstanding commitment to tackling housing insecurity and supporting local communities through impactful partnerships.

Carole Charter, Chief Commercial Officer, at The Cambridge

Now in its 175th year, The Cambridge has pledged to donate £175,000 annually from profits to local causes with a continued focus on housing and financial wellbeing. Last year, the Society donated more than £100,000 to charities addressing housing and shelter-related challenges.

The Cambridge launched their anniversary year in January by awarding a three-year grant of £50,000 per annum to The Angels Foundation to help make a long-last difference in the community. The grant provides The Angels with a platform to expand its services over the next three years to deliver long-lasting support for survivors of domestic abuse in Cambridgeshire.

The Society was also shortlisted for Building Society of the Year, Mortgage Provider of the Year, and Sustainability Initiative of the Year at The MoneyAge Awards, which celebrate excellence across the UK’s financial sector.

Carole Charter, Chief Commercial Officer, at The Cambridge, said:

“This award is a fantastic recognition of the Community Fund and the real difference it’s making across our region. We’re proud to work alongside local charities doing such vital work to help more people have a place to call home.”

The Cambridge has already awarded £65,414 to nine charities working to address key issues across the community this year.

These organisations are Cambridge Carbon Footprint, Cambridge Cyrenians, Citizens Advice Rural Cambs, Turtle Dove Cambridge CIC, Cambridge Women’s Aid, Cambridge and District Citizens Advice (CDCA), The Sick Children’s Trust, Making Space and Wintercomfort.

Applications for the fund are open until Saturday 1 November and can be made twice a year via the Cambridgeshire Community Foundation.

Katie Robinson, Community Engagement Officer, at The Cambridge, added:

"Being recognised as Best Charity Partnership of the Year means so much to us. The Cambridge Building Society Community Fund is a vital part of how we make a difference - giving a helping hand to those who need it most. This award celebrates what's possible when we work side by side with our community partners to improve access to shelter and housing."
