Cambridge event proves companies can grow 10x in a year - if they have the right team in p...

On Thursday 16th February 2012, six of the region’s most exciting young entrepreneurs will pitch to an audience of senior executives, value added business angels and serial entrepreneurs to find talented people who can help them grow their businesses.

Six companies to compete in Cambridge for top talent on 16th February at Taylor Vinters 4-7pm

Chris Walklett, Partner at accountancy firm PEM, which is supporting the 2012 events in Cambridge said: “The biggest challenge facing companies in trying to raise finance from banks or venture capital is having a strong enough team to command that money.  Pitching for Management solves this problem in an effective, efficient way.  With the right team in place these companies will also be able to exploit their commercial potential too.”

There is already strong demand for audience places at the event.  Senior executives are stepping forward all over the UK to offer their time, skills and experience to the region’s most exciting hi- tech and other entrepreneurial businesses.  In Cambridge there is particular interest from individuals who relish a second career opportunity.

“The guest list includes some of the region’s most talented businessmen and women,” said Modwenna Rees-Mogg.  “They really love the fact that they can assess which businesses they can offer the most to, without the usual rigmarole of paperwork, lunches and interviews usually associated with finding a senior position. We already have case studies of companies achieving 10-fold growth after hiring the right senior executives.”

Adrian Godwin, CEO of Conserro PLC - a hi tech building management platform which pitched at the last Cambridge Pitching for Management event in October 2011, said: “Before Pitching for Management we were a 1.5 person business with an amazing online solution for office and other building management systems.  We had potential customers all over the world, but little ability to exploit the opportunity.  Thanks to our pitch we now have several people with relevant experience who are helping us to meet that demand.  We are now set to grow exponentially in 2012.”

John Short, Senior Partner of Taylor Vinters, which is hosting the event on 16th February, said: “We are delighted to be able to bring together some of the most talented executives in Cambridge and the region with a group of AngelNews’ most inspirational entrepreneurs. We enormously value the fact that we can assist in building the management teams today in the businesses of tomorrow.”

Senior executives, serial entrepreneurs and value added business angels can book places now at: http://pitchingformanagementcambridge4.eventbrite.com/.    The roles on offer will be announced one week before the event.
