June 25, 2022 - Harvard Alumni for Global Women's Empowerment: Fireside Chat Series Featuring CAMFED USA

Brooke Hutchinson, Executive Director at CAMFED USA, joins Harvard GlobalWE Connect for the third event in its Women’s Empowerment Fireside Chat series. Launched in 2021, the Fireside Chat series features dialogues with senior leaders of organizations serving women and girls worldwide and the challenges and opportunities they encounter in a rapidly-changing world.

Project Drawdown: Climate-Poverty Connections Webinar Series - Part Two

It was wonderful to have so many of you join us for our Earth Day 2022 Facebook Live conversation! Thank you for your patience as we were delayed by sudden rain and had to relocate indoors, and were later hit by a power outage! These challenges did not dampen our sisters’ passion, and we were honored to be joined by guest and education advocate Vee Kativhu for dancing and discussions.

Improving Rural Girls' Access to Education: how integrating solutions to transport poverty reduces systemic barriers

This event features CAMFED Association member, Salma Dhilwayo, and Executive Director for CAMFED Zimbabwe, Dr. Shungu Gwarinda, in conversation with Chief Development Officer, Emily Zemke. They discuss how women’s leadership can advance real change, whether through enacting legislation and policy changes, or by serving as visible examples of what girls and educated young women can accomplish.

Eliza Chikoti from Malawi joined the session to represent the 208,000-strong CAMFED Association, the powerful pan-African network of women leaders educated with CAMFED support.

Esnath Divasoni on a climate action panel chaired by Julia Gillard


March 7, 2022

Esnath represented our Sisterhood in a discussion about women’s leadership in climate action, which was chaired by Former Prime Minister of Australia and Chair of the Global Institute for Women’s Leadership, Julia Gillard. Esnath spoke about the role of education in enabling her and her sisters across Africa to take the lead and improve climate resilience for thousands of people in rural communities.
