With the Cloud becoming decidedly mainstream, Lars will look at some of the mythology that grew up around its emergence and trace how some of the more common predictions have fared. Five years ago, we heard that: Cloud Computing was going to lead to constant innovation, but would never be trusted for mission critical applications; it would eliminate the need for operations and maintenance, but result in operational and security failures of an unprecedented magnitude; relentlessly drive down software and infrastructure costs, but ultimately end up costing businesses more. With the benefit of hindsight, we'll see how these and other common Cloud myths have stood the test of time.
Lars will lead his session from 18:30 and refreshments and the opportunity to connect with your fellow Cloud enthusiasts is available from 19:30.
