Deloitte has launched the Life Sciences Catalyst in Cambridge, a collaborative platform enabling organisations in the biotech, medtech, pharmaceutical and technology sectors, as well as prospective investors, to come together to tackle the biggest challenges facing their industries.

Industry programme created to solve the business challenges that keep life sciences leaders and innovators up at night

The Life Sciences Catalyst will facilitate connections between people, businesses and investors to support companies with their growth, regardless of their evolutionary stage.  It has a physical presence in the heart of the city and will enable companies to access an online database of white papers, participate in a virtual events programme, attend business surgeries and access Deloitte’s Biotech-in–a-Box suite of solutions.

Deloitte partner and leader for the public sector technology and digital risk business, Fran Cousins, who will be leading the Life Sciences Catalyst, commented:  “The Life Sciences Catalyst combines the best business leaders and Life Sciences expertise with the local and global capabilities of Deloitte to generate business growth in Cambridge. Supporting companies throughout their scale-up journey, we will provide dedicated support, investment summits, webinars, original insight, research and a network to catalyse success in the Cambridge economy.”

Commenting on the launch, Paul Schofield, Deloitte South East practice senior partner said: “Our purpose with the Life Sciences Catalyst is to support organisations as they grow and thrive.

Opportunities for the Life Sciences sector are significant and we look forward to bringing the wider capabilities of Deloitte - from tax advisory to finance function development, from modelling to strategy consulting, capital markets advisory to transaction readiness support to the many exciting Life Sciences businesses in our vibrant local economy.”

Deloitte’s Life Sciences Catalyst will be hosting an opening webinar on 22 September.  Join Deloitte and a guest panel including Sir Mene Pangalos, Dr Andy Richards and Dr Susan Windham-Bannister as they explore the challenges facing the UK Life Sciences sector today.  Further information to register and join can be found at www.deloitte.co.uk/lifesciencescatalyst
