Demystifying RF - The CRFS Spring Webinar Series

CRFS, a leading manufacturer of spectrum monitoring and geolocation systems, today announced the launch of its Spring Webinar Series. Subject experts from the company will be conducting interactive webinars covering a range of topics of interest to current and potential users of RF spectrum monitoring and geolocation equipment.

Beginning tomorrow (2 April), the sessions will run on a biweekly basis, with two time slots (8am and 3pm UTC) to allow users across the world to view live.

In the first of the series, Jon Bradley and Alistair Massarella will be discussing direction finding techniques in “AoA Accuracy - Myths and Legends”. They will be covering the factors that determine the true optimum performance of DF systems in real world deployments, and offering hints and tips on getting the most out of the equipment. Following on from that, on the 16th April, Darren Nicholls and Tony Martin will provide a comprehensive introduction to time difference of arrival (TDOA) techniques, and explain why they are becoming the gold standard for geolocation of RF signals.

In the third installment, Mickey Patterson and Eric Famanas will guide attendees through the three-dimensional version of time difference of arrival, 3D TDOA, and show how it allows for accurate and undetectable tracking of aircraft over a wide area. And rounding off the initial run, Danielle Simmons and Stewart Hyde will demonstrate how a wideband recording system, paired with a forensic analysis system, can allow the extraction and analysis of signals from big RF data sets.

CRFS Founder and CTO Alistair Massarella explained the rationale behind the series: “We’re all having to adapt to new modes of working in the current climate, and these webinars are a way to reach out to our customers and the wider RF community - a chance to bring RF education and discussion into people’s home offices, remote workplaces, or wherever they are currently located.”

Registration is open now, and more information can be found at www.crfs.com/events/
