The Device Developers' Conference explores IoT in the real world

Solid State Supplies Ltd in partnership with Digi International has announced that it will be sharing its expertise in the field of IoT (Internet of Things) at this year's UK Device Developers Conference. The presentation will discuss real-world options for ‘Machine to Machine’ and ‘Device to Cloud’ communication.

Entitled "Machine to Machine Communication – IoT in The Real World", the presentation will explore the technologies available to engineers and how they can best be implemented.

The UK Device Developers' Conference is a one-day conference for engineers and computer scientists involved in the development of intelligent systems and devices. It is an event that explores the very latest tools and technologies available and includes a vendor exhibition, half-day technical workshops and a series of informative technical presentations.

"For many engineers, IoT might be considered hip media terminology," said Matt Cook, Business Development Manager at Solid State Supplies. "It is fair to say that IoT is not exactly an engineering term, however, machine and device connectivity is changing the world, whether it's cars, medical equipment or even retail technology, its impact has been pervasive. In this presentation we will explore and compare the communication options available to engineers."

Solid States Supplies presentation will explore options such as Wifi, Bluetooth, Zigbee, Wimax, Lte and HSPA and it will evaluate each in terms of throughput, range, coverage, power consumption, devices per network, security, topology, connection and reliability. The presentation will also discuss hardware and software options, as well as exploring options for Device to Cloud connectivity and security.

Solid State Supplies Ltd is a respected UK provider of semiconductors and modules for embedded systems development, with particular expertise in control and communications, both wireless and wired.

"We are very pleased to have Solid State Supplies supporting the Conference again this year," said Richard Blackburn, Conference Manager. "They bring a lot of real-world experience and knowledge to the Conference. I feel sure that their presentation will attract a wide audience of engineers that are having to come to terms with developments in the area of connectivity."

The Device Developers’ Conference is to take place in Reading, Cambridge, Manchester and Uphall (Scotland) during May and June 2015 and is expected to attract more than 300 senior hi-tech developers.
The Conference is free to engineers and technical project managers, but a small charge is made for places on the half-day technical workshops.
