Does the water in Cambridge make you a better entrepreneur?

What aspects of the Cambridge ecosystem make it such a successful place for entrepreneurship? That's the question to be tackled during a webinar next week, presented by the University of Cambridge Judge Business School’s Centre for Entrepreneurial Learning (CfEL).

The webinar features Dr Shai Vyakarnam, Director of the University of Cambridge Judge Business School’s Centre for Entrepreneurial Learning (CfEL) and Co-Founder and Director of AcceleratorIndia; and Charles Cotton (pictured), Chairman of Cambridge Phenomenon Ltd and Neul Ltd in Cambridge, and a Director of technology companies Solarflare in California, and XMOS in the UK.

Date: Tuesday 26 Mar 2013, 11:00-12:00 GMT

About this webinar:

Over many centuries some towns, cities, harbours have always been wonderful hubs for entrepreneurship.  We can find these on spice routes, the silk road and in more modern times the importance of Silicon Valley, Boston and Cambridge have been recognised. What can we learn from such places? During this webinar, there’ll be a short presentation about how Cambridge has developed from a rural small town into a city which has incubated nearly 5,000 high tech firms of which at any one time some 1500 provide 40,000 jobs.

The webinar will be based on a wonderful narrative from a book called The Cambridge Phenomenon – told by one of the co-authors, Mr Charles Cotton who was previously Director of one of the first $1bn companies of Cambridge that gave birth to faster internet speeds.
