The fund supports local voluntary and community groups, and the latest grants handed out under the programme have now been confirmed.
Cambourne United Football Club have received £1,000 to pay for equipment such as balls, nets, posts and flags for a new girls team.
Shepreth Spitfires Football Club have also scored after being given the same amount to pay for new goals, training bibs, kit bags and medical kits.
Caxton Village Hall has received £1,000 for the refurbishment work, while new play equipment will be installed by Litlington Pre-school, which has also been granted £1,000.
The Friends of Petersfield School will put their £1,000 funding towards a sensory garden, while a grant of the same amount is going towards replacement play equipment managed by The Whittlesford Lawn Trust.
The community around Hatton Park School will soon be kept better informed, as the Friends of Hatton Park will be purchasing a community notice board with their £968 funding, while members of Melbourn Bowls Club will be keeping their eyes firmly on a new scoreboard which the club plans to purchase thanks to a £599 grant.
Home Start Royston and South Cambridgeshire will be buying a gazebo, table cloth and banners after being given £936, while the final grant of £879 goes to Liltington Parish Council, who will be purchasing an information lectern for the community wildlife site.
Cllr Simon Edwards, portfolio holder with responsibility for community grants at South Cambridgeshire District Council, said: “Once again we’ve seen some cracking applications from some community organisations which make a real difference in their communities.
“This money gives a helping hand to the grass-roots groups that are really important in our residents’ lives.
“It always makes me smile to sign-off these grants, knowing that each bit of funding we give out makes a positive difference.”
Roman Maczkiewicz, Fundraiser at Home Start Royston and South Cambridgeshire, said: “We’re delighted to receive a grant from the Community Chest which will help raise our profile at future fundraising events.
“The purchase of a gazebo, banner and tablecloths all displaying our logo would not have been possible without this grant.
“By making our charity logo more visible to both supporters and donors we aim to attract new interest in our work.
“Our Fundraising Events Group is very much looking forward to maximising the use of this new equipment to reach new supporters, and raise much needed funds to allow our work assisting families with young children to continue."
Sally Bushby from the Caxton Village Hall Committee said: “We’re very pleased to receive funding by the Community Chest grant scheme.
“It means we are now able to improve the kitchen area with much needed new flooring.
