Laura is recognised for her technical expertise in construction law and dispute resolution. The Legal 500 has described her as "becoming a real leading light for her dedicated work". Her arrival strengthens the firm’s capacity to handle larger, technically complex and cross-border instructions.

Piet van Gelder, Partner and Head of Construction, commented, “Laura is an experienced and widely respected construction disputes lawyer who brings substantial technical expertise and a strong professional profile to the firm. Cambridge and the surrounding region have a strong development and infrastructure market, with significant activity across commercial property, residential development, science and technology, education and research. Projects are becoming increasingly complex, with clients needing joined-up advice on property, planning, construction, building safety and dispute risk.

“Having an experienced construction disputes partner based in Cambridge strengthens our ability to provide that integrated support locally, while drawing on the wider resources of Howes Percival's property and development teams across the firm.”

Dashna Morarji-Sagoo worked in London for more than 13 years and has firsthand experience of working at major lenders, having done secondments with both Santander and Barclays. Specialising in all aspects of banking and finance transactions including leveraged finance, corporate lending, acquisition finance, real estate finance, asset-based lending, restructuring, and syndicated loan transactions, with a strong understanding of regulatory and commercial banking frameworks.

Ollie Flowers, Legal Director in the Cambridge Corporate team commented, “We are delighted to welcome Dashna to Howes Percival. Dashna’s experience with distressed debt transactions and working for mainstream lenders adds a new dimension to the banking team’s experience. With access to capital funding becoming more difficult, or being subject to tougher due diligence, Dashna can help us advise borrowers on how best to navigate the initial legal due diligence process to obtain a successful outcome for all parties and ensure that, over the lifetime of the funding arrangements, they don’t get into difficulties that could be avoided by earlier conversations or provision of additional information.”
