Dr Hafidh Al Qadhi, a nephrologist at King Fahd General Hospital in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, explained: “After qualifying in general medicine, I decided to specialise in nephrology and, in addition to clinical experience, I recognised that I needed a specialty certificate in the subject to advance my career.
“I wanted to obtain a European qualification from a highly regarded organisation, and felt that the MRCP(UK) Specialty Certificate Examination in nephrology would offer me the perfect opportunity to extend my knowledge of this field. The examination covers every possible aspect of nephrology and requires in-depth study of the subject, as well as proving my competence. I have learnt a great deal from preparing for the SCE, and would recommend it to others. In fact, two of my colleagues have already decided to sit the same examination, while a third is taking its equivalent in oncology.”
