How to create compelling and robust display interfaces for intelligent systems

Workshops at next week's UK Device Developers' Conference will explain the development of embedded graphical user interfaces (GUIs) that meet the highest standards of quality control and user-appeal.

The organisers of the UK Device Developers' Conference have announced that they have added an additional workshop to the Conference schedule.

The new half-day workshop will explain the development of embedded GUI's that meet the highest standards of quality control and user-appeal. This workshop will be run at the Conference event at Reading on 12th May and Cambridge on 14th May.

The workshop will focus on a highly integrated approach to embedded GUI development. Focusing on an integrated approach, enabling faster development, lower cost and a higher quality final product.  Dr. Rene Schumann, European Technical Manager with Embedded GUI software company, Altia, will present the workshop.

The UK Device Developers' Conference is a one-day conference for engineers and computer scientists involved in the development of embedded systems and real-time software. It is an event that explores the very latest tools and technologies available and includes a vendor exhibition, half-day technical workshops and a series of informative technical presentations.

"We will be looking at an integrated GUI development tool-chain that starts with behavioural modelling and verification of GUI graphics, and continues with automatic code-generation for specific target graphics processors, “ said Dr. Rene Schumann.

“We will also explain how all mainstream graphics processors are supported by this technology, giving maximum hardware choice, whilst Altia’s code-generator produces code that uses minimal system resources, resulting in minimal hardware cost and maximized performance.”

Altia provides powerful, professional-grade embedded system GUI development tools that help creative, customer-focused designers and software engineers build and deliver game-changing user interfaces.

“We are very pleased to have Altia’s expertise in this field on board for this year’s Conference,“ said Richard Blackburn, Conference Manager. “In this industry, GUI development is a big deal. The GUI dictates the look and feel of a product more than any other aspect of an embedded system design. It also impacts the internal functionality and the external branding; so a GUI designer has a lot to think about.  I feel sure this will be a popular workshop at the Conference”

The Device Developers’ Conference is to take place in Reading, Cambridge, Warrington and Uphall (Scotland) during May and June 2015.  The Conference, including the technical presentations, is free to engineers and technical project managers. A small charge is made for places on the half-day technical workshops.
