The more urgent the need to post something is, the more blank your mind becomes.
It is hence imperative to think outside the box. Your common posts about your service, product, how good you are and what sets you apart from your competitors are all good but can become mundane and boring to your audience after a little while. So let’s have a look at five simple and interesting ideas that will help you beat that dreaded writer’s block.
- Create and Post “Listicles”: People love lists (including myself). Listicles or List Posts are a great way to engage your readers and they're also fairly easy to create. Simply pick a topic that fits your blogs’ narrative, list some tips, Include the number of items in your article title and then resume your post with a brief explanation of what your readers will be reading.
- Make use of Infographics: It is common knowledge that posts with an image attract more of an engagement and hence achieve higher views. However, Infographics can be even more useful as they also present specific information or data combining with an image. Statistics show that readers tend to share Infographics more than other posts and find them much easier to comprehend and focus on. Make sure your infographics are of high quality and representative of your expertise.
- Ask Engaging Questions: We live in a somewhat “egocentric” world where people love to voice their opinions (even if they are not asked sometimes) so why not give them that podium, to answer engaging questions, help you get an understanding of the problems they face and what answers or solutions they seek. It would not only show your customers that you care about their opinion but potentially also help you identify areas in your industry where your clients (or potential clients) need help.
- Follow Daily themes: It might sound somewhat “simple” and cheesy but daily themes can help finding ideas a lot easier for you. What is more, recurring themes also assist in creating consistency and uniformity in your posts. Last but not least, they create a buzz for that specific theme or day, giving your audience something to engage with. You obviously cannot (and should not do this daily) but try a few of these themes out and see which one works for you. Also, creating your own theme might also be a good idea.Monday: Motivation Monday, Music Monday
Tuesday: Tuesday Tip, Trivia Tuesday, Tuesday Treat
Wednesday: Wacky Wednesday, Wednesday Wisdom
Thursday: Throwback Thursday, Thursday Thoughts, Thankful Thursday
Friday: Follow Friday, TGIF, Friday Fun
- Educate your Audience: It is all very well advertising and promoting your services but it is even better to provide your audience with valid reasons to do so. Your educational posts don’t necessarily need to directly advertise your product but simply have a link of some sorts. For example, we posted a blog about the Healthy and Nutritional attributes of Thai cuisine (in general) for one of our clients recently who owns a Thai restaurant.
Keeping your audience
Conclusively, try to keep your audience informed, interested and wanting to engage with your page - something that the above ideas can help you with a lot. However, do not omit or forget to say thank you and reward the customers who engage with you, as they could potentially become brand advocates.
