Keystone supports future marketers with workshop at Form the Future event

New Cambridge Network member, Keystone Marketing has recently been involved with helping young people learn about a future career in marketing. Organised by social enterprise Form the Future, Keystone attended a careers workshop helping year 12s learn more about the work Keystone do and understand the opportunities available to them after their A-Levels.

Taking place at Stratton Upper School in Biggleswade on Thursday 16th March 2017, the event was held to support the school’s year 12 students in researching and learning more about different career options available to them.

The event was organised by Form the Future, a social enterprise operating across Cambridgeshire, helping link schools with local businesses in order to get young people ready for work. Their impact is far reaching – having worked with nearly 13,000 local pupils alone during the past year. Newest Keystone recruit, Natalie was the company's representative for the morning, helping inform the students about Marketing and her route into the industry. The students were introduced to each of the businesses present at the event (which included companies involved in banking, teaching and engineering) and were then given the opportunity to select their top four to attend a session with. Keystone proved to be highly popular among students, with all bar one session being full!

Keystone’s workshop consisted of a short Marketing quiz to begin, followed by top tips for a career in marketing, all compiled into a handy flyer by Natalie. The students of Stratton Upper School proved to be highly knowledgeable in marketing, with the majority performing well on the Keystone quiz! Natalie then ran through A-Levels that support a career in marketing, alongside further education routes such as University and Work Experience post-sixth form. Natalie also included her own top tips for working in marketing, alongside some useful websites for students to learn more about the sector.

Keystone received lots of positive feedback from students at the end of the morning, including a couple of students who later popped back to ask additional questions. Overall the event proved to be highly successful in engaging with students, hopefully supporting year 12 with the numerous difficult decisions they have to make over the upcoming months. Keystone are very proud to have supported these young people, helping them learn more about marketing and provide insight on work and life after sixth form.
