The two-day Paediatric First Aid course will enable participants to manage an emergency, learn how to use CPR on children effectively and deal with injuries and illnesses which could affect children.
“The course is perfect for anyone who is a registered childminder, cares for children or simply wants to be prepared for an emergency. It’s also very useful for anyone studying childcare who would like an extra qualification,” said course organiser David McElroy.
“Learning to perform first aid, particularly on children, is an interactive process that requires a combination of compassion, skill and knowledge. Each session is designed to give the competence and confidence to provide vital first aid in an emergency.”
Learners will need to complete a knowledge assessment at the end of the course and assessment of competency throughout the practical sessions.
The course, which costs £85, meets Ofsted requirements and HSC Health & Safety First Aid at Work recommendations, as well as the Early Years foundation stage statutory framework.
