News from Project Racer - Rural Areas Circular Economy Reinforcer

As an economic powerhouse, the North Sea Region has some of the highest levels of resource consumption and carbon emissions in the world.With stiff targets to reduce emissions, a focus on green business is a win-win strategy. By fostering innovative eco-enterprise, we aim to stimulate economic growth plus environmental benefits: less pollution, lower emissions and longer-lasting resources.

The North Sea Region Programme launched its new 2021-2127 programme in December 2021.

The new North Sea Region Programme funds projects focus on how to change attitudes and behaviour. They trial different ways of facilitating consumers and enterprises to conserve water, reduce waste, recycle materials, and adopt energy efficient practices and technologies.”

The transnational nature of these projects stimulates development and adoption of eco-friendly and low-carbon products, services and processes around the North Sea.

EFEC BITE  is working with a number of people in organisations across the eight countries of the North Sea Region to develop a responses to these challenges. These are companies, business support agencies and research institutes with expertise in a diverse ranges of activities in the circular economy – from biomass and waste recycling to eco-villages and attitude changing .
