The name and identity were inspired by two primary factors; the development is centred at the heart of one of London’s largest Jewish communities –and is bordered by a large collection of mature lime and London Plain trees. Ilan is Hebrew for tree. The natural theme, introduced in the logo and extended on hoarding and initial marketing, is consistent with the wider locality; adjacent to Ilan House is Clapton Common, a designated conservation area in 1969 providing a valuable, open green space with a pleasant atmosphere.
Ilan Square is a stunning regeneration development of high architectural quality – when complete will comprise of 107 mixed tenure apartments, including a 41 unit extra care facility for older people, with associated communal facilities, set in a conservation area and overlooking Clapton Common.
