SDC discusses recent developments in software version control systems at conference

Leading embedded systems tools and technology supplier SDC Systems will explore important issues relating to the use of version control for embedded systems development at the UK Device Developers' Conference 2015.

The UK Device Developers' Conference is a one-day conference for engineers and computer scientists involved in the development of intelligent systems and devices. It is an event that explores the very latest tools and technologies available and includes a vendor exhibition, half-day technical workshops and a series of informative technical presentations.

This year’s event is to be held in Reading (May 12th), Cambridge (May 14th), Warrington (June 2nd) and Uphall (Scotland June 4th).

"Version control systems  record changes to a file or set of files over time, so that a developer can recall specific software versions later," said Peter Heyes, Sales Director at SDC Systems.

"It allows developers to revert files back to a previous state, revert the entire project back to a previous state, compare changes over time, see who last modified something that might be causing a problem and has many other powerful development capabilities. My presentation will discuss how users of ‘open source’ version control tools, such as Git, can manage their Git environment and extend its functionality for the rest of the Enterprise."

SDC Systems Ltd is a leading UK distributor of tools and technologies that aid the development of intelligent systems and devices. Operating in areas such as embedded systems development, enterprise software development, software testing and code analysis, SDC Systems bring a wealth of leading edge knowledge and expertise to the UK technical sector whilst providing a range of products and services that enable innovation and accelerate development.

“We are very pleased to have SDC Systems presenting at the Conference once again,” said Richard Blackburn, Conference Manager. “The team at SDC Systems bring a lot of leading edge knowledge and experience to the event and always some new leading edge development technologies.”

The Conference, including the technical presentations, is free to engineers and technical project managers. A small charge is made for places on the half-day technical workshops.
