Serbian service - one that got away

John Tinsley, Director of Compandben International, says: "We don't always succeed. Here's the story of a Serbia service that didn't come off."

He writes:

An existing client , a USA based NGO, contacted us a month or so ago. The organisation had a Serbian employee in the USA and wanted to have him work in Europe  -in Serbia.

We can provide the service.  We have an excellent partner firm covering Serbia. The social charges were not too awful - 17.9%- and our fee, 14% of salary and employer social charges were acceptable.

We had a draft employment contract ready and a draft service agreement signed up. But we have just heard that the employee has said “no" to the transfer -- maybe he worries that if he leaves the USA he will have difficulty working there again.

The partner firm we were proposing to use also covers all the Balkan countries, Bosnia, Herzegovina, Macedonia, Greece, Albania, Kosovo.
