The Shape of things to come

A new training course now available from Cambridge Network's Learning Collaboration offers to help people feel calmer, make better decisions, and thrive in work and life.

Cicle - part of Shapes training course

The COVID crisis has forced us all to adopt new ways of working that are sometimes less than ideal. Interactions confined to telephone, Zoom or Microsoft Teams can lead to virtual fatigue and have made it more difficult for people to connect and support each other effectively, causing high levels of stress and anxiety.

Whether or not your business has decided to stay working from home or return to the office - or to juggle with both - we are still dealing with unprecedented levels of change and uncertainty.  It may feel like a cliche, but it is still often difficult to maintain a good work-life balance; people are continuing to struggle with their own mental fitness and wellbeing.

That is why Dr Rachel Morris, a GP who knows what it’s like to work on the frontline in high stress environments, has developed the Shapes Toolkit - a breakthrough resilience training course for professionals. It uses seven different key productivity, resilience and coaching tools to help managers and their teams take control of their time and workload, increase their wellbeing, change their response to stressful situations and have better conversations. Each ‘shape’ represents a simple model to use as a prompt to help navigate issues of resilience in the workplace. The shapes are visual and tangible to provide a quickly identifiable solution to a problem.

Now her Shapes training course - a powerful blend of neuroscience, coaching principles and practical techniques - is being offered through the Learning Collaboration as an interactive virtual workshop taking place over two half-days next month (12 and 13 May).

If you or your team are involved in stressful and demanding jobs where the workload is high, consider signing up to learn about tools you can use straight away to address issues in your day-to-day work.
