Since 2005 the programme has awarded approximately £3 million to 80 of the nation’s most innovative low-carbon businesses, and has this year increased the funding for the national winner from £40,000 to £150,000. In addition, five regional winners will walk away with £40,000 each to scale up their idea. This means that a total of £350,000 is available in 2015.
But it’s not just the funding that attracts dynamic businesses – as last year’s winner Oaktec explains in a blog on the new Shell Springboard website, the networking opportunities and credibility associated with the programme has been instrumental in accelerating their progress.
