SJIC chooses ELIMINATA energy savers for office energy saving

Energy Reducing Products (ERP) recently announced that St John’s Innovation Centre, Cambridge has selected ERP’s ELIMINATA® energy savers as a key part of their energy saving and de-carbonisation programme.

Businesses waste around 8% of their total electricity spend by leaving office equipment switched on but unused overnight and over weekends. ELIMINATA® products save money and carbon by automatically turning these appliances off when they are not being used and back on when they are needed.

St John’s Innovation Centre is strongly focused on the cleantech sector and is currently undergoing a major refurbishment of its public areas, an important part of which is a greatly increased focus on minimising its carbon footprint. The Centre already operates a full recycling programme and new measures will include: on-demand lighting; low water usage; reducing energy used by electrical appliances and extensive use of recycled materials in ceiling and floor coverings.

The Centre is using ELIMINATA energy savers with its printers, copiers and water dispensers, which it sees as an important part of the overall drive to reduce its carbon footprint and, of course, to save money.

David Moir (Projects Manager, St. John’s Innovation Centre) said: “ELIMINATA energy savers are a quick win for us – simple installation with no complicated instructions means that we are up and saving very quickly.”

ERP’s John Halfpenny commented: “As home to some of the UK’s leading clean-tech start-ups, de-carbonising is a key objective for the Centre. Our ‘plug and forget’ energy savers make perfect sense by automatically and unobtrusively delivering cost and carbon savings.”
